Do you want to become more comfortable and fluent when speaking English in everyday situations? Do you need to use English for emails, meetings, or for when you travel? Would you like to improve your knowledge of grammar and vocabulary or work on your pronunciation? I can help with all this.

I’m Joseph, a native-speaker from London specialising in both Conversational and Business English. Since I obtained my TEFL qualification in 2003, I've been a full-time teacher in England, France, and Germany to all kinds of private students and people working in many well-known companies. I also speak four languages, and so understand what it's like to be a learner.

It's important to me that you feel comfortable and relaxed during the lessons and that you have fun while learning. Whether you need individual or group training, the lesson are designed around your specific needs. We can do the them online (Skype/Teams/Zoom), or at my place (Prenzlauer Berg 10439). A big difference between me and other teachers is that I use an online platform with a full programme of courses, which makes everything more interactive and modern, and it is very popular with all my clients.

In the first lesson you will tell me what you need and we will get to know each other. I will then plan the lessons based on the particular areas you need to work on.

Why take private English lessons?

Private lessons with an English trainer are the most effective way to learn a language. If you only use apps for learning, you don't have enough speaking practice or enough error correction. It's also more motivating when you have a real person in front of you. If you go to a language school, you often have to sit in a classroom with a large group of people of all different levels, and again you don't have much opportunity to practice speaking. Moreover the lessons are very generalised and not planned to fit your specific needs. If you choose to take one-to-one lessons through a language school or company, in most schools you will usually be forced to pay for many hours in advance and at much higher prices. The quality of teaching will also not be any better than with me, because I have already worked for many of those schools and companies myself and I use very similar materials and methods.

Why English lessons with me?

Half of the teachers online (or in Berlin) are not qualified to teach English. I am professionally trained and certified, I've been a teacher since 2003, and have even taught at university level. I also have a large library of teaching materials, both on paper and online, and I know how to use them correctly. Lastly, many teachers speak only about themselves for the whole lesson and waste your time. With me, the focus is always on giving you the opportunity to practice speaking.
